David Owen
Director & Owner
David acquired a large part of Turweston Aerodrome in 1989 when it was little more than an abandoned WWII Aerodrome with a gliding club.
Armed with a vision and lots of energy, he set about the process of re-opening as a General Aviation (GA) Aerodrome and in 1993 gained the necessary permission.
Under David’s management the Aerodrome has been under a continuous programme of development and improvement, with the latest building completed at the end of 2021.

Chris Brown
Aerodrome Manager
Chris has been with Turweston Flight Centre since 1994. He is a qualified Pilot (PPL), First-Aider, Air/Ground Radio Operator, Fuel Bowser Driver, Database Operator, and Chap-in-the-Tower.
Chris is responsible for organising all the aviation-related activities, from first contact by radio or phone through to the all-important ground handling services such as runway inspections, manoeuvring aircraft in and out of hangars and refuelling.
Gary Loveday
Operations
A lifelong enthusiast going to his first airshow as a ‘bump’, Gary has been involved with aviation for most of his life.
For many years he helped at Turweston as a marshal, a hobby he has pursued since 1988. He is often seen with a camera stuck to his face.
His role at Turweston is to assist Chris Brown with airside operations and refuelling.

Ricky Delve
Operations
An aerodrome stalwart, Ricky has been helping us since 2002. Although his assistance is predominantly with Tower operations, Ricky is also our go-to person for anything technical and is vital to keeping various software packages updated.
Like Chris, he has a lot of experience with the Aerodrome and its operations, and is always happy to help.
Phillip Hayward
Operations
Phillip joined the team in early 2019 and is another vital member of our weekend and event staff.
He has a PPL and has kept his plane at Turweston since 2008. Since retiring in 2018 he has been a volunteer at a number of aviation events including Farnborough and Duxford and is delighted to be part of the team at his home airfield.
Phillip works mostly on Sundays and on event and other days as needed.

Ryan Tarratt
Operations Assistant
Ryan was involved in aviation from a very young age, growing up flying from Oxford and Turweston with his Father. It has been his ambition to gain his pilot’s licence ever since and as of October 2022 he is well on the way to achieving that goal.
Ryan joined the team in 2021 and is enthusiastic about providing the best service possible in his role driving the fuel bowser and assisting with airside operations. He is close to gaining his licence to be one of the voices behind the air-to-ground radio.

Tanya Egan
Accounts
Tanya Egan joined the team in 2014 and is our accounts department, dealing with all the tasks associated with providing book-keeping services for our company.
She is generally in the office 2 days a week.
Sophie Loveday
Cafe Manager
Sophie joined the café team in 2018, taking on the role of Manager at the start of 2022, but her involvement with the airfield goes back much further as she has been an aircraft marshal for various events here since around 2013.
Our café can be very busy and demanding and Sophie’s calm manner under pressure keeps the operation running smoothly. She is always open to new ideas and willing to try different recipes and approaches to keep the café offering fresh and interesting. This includes catering for events or special occasions, so do contact Sophie if you have a special request.
