for Covid 19 Lockdown Exit
on March 29th 2021

Since 23rd March 2020 (the start of ‘lockdown 1’) Turweston Flight Centre Ltd has been rigorously following government and CAA guidelines for businesses and individuals. We will now follow the road map set out by the Government on 22nd February 2021.

Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers. We are doing all we can to reduce the risk of infection with the Covid 19 virus. Please help us by complying with all instructions and requests from our Company and staff.

We are very keen to re-open and welcome everyone back and ask that you bear with us as we continue to adjust to the new rules.

Turweston Flight Centre Requirements for Everyone.

Please:

Wear a mask while inside our building except while seated in the Café.

Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with hot soapy water when entering the building – the door handles and push plates are touched by many people.

Try to keep 2 metres away from others.

Flying Operations

Flights of home-based and visiting aircraft are permitted under the government and CAA guidelines in effect at the time.

We will do our best to provide a full service including moving aircraft, refuelling and radio cover where it is safe and practical to do so.

To allow our Club members, students and home-based aircraft owners the opportunity to regain currency and safe flying practices we will operate a slot system for the first few weeks.

Home based pilots: Please give 24 hours’ notice of an intention to fly either by email to tower@turwestonflight.com or calling 01280 705400. Let us know whether and how much fuel is required. Tell us when you plan to return so we can put your aircraft away.

Circuits: except on days when there is low demand for flying, circuits will not be permitted.

Visiting pilots: Please call us on the day you would like to fly in on 01280 705400 ext. 1.

Slots will be allocated on a first come – first served basis. We apologise in advance if we are unable to accommodate you every time. If you are unable to utilise a booked arrival for any reason, please notify us ASAP so that it can be allocated to someone else.

Noise Abatement: Following lockdown 1 there was a surge in demand for flying. We are very grateful for the support our customers showed in returning to Turweston but we do need to consider our neighbours, some of whom were quite distressed by overflights. Please familiarise yourself with the correct circuit and do your best to avoid overflying local villages and dwellings.

Fuel and landing fee payments: We would like everyone to pay for landing fees and fuel at the mobile PDQ machine on the apron (generally in the Avgas bowser). If you can’t do this please call us with card details before you leave Turweston. If necessary you can leave a secure voice message with the relevant information, including your telephone number. Card details are destroyed once payment is received. We are not accepting cash.

Toilets: the toilets on the ground floor of Turweston Tower are open for use. Maintain social distance and please wash your hands thoroughly.

The Tower and Office floors remain closed to visitors.

Café

The Café will gradually re-open following the dates on the Government’s road map.

From 29th March we will be open for take-away food and drinks only with a limited menu.

From 12th April we will open the terrace for seated dining only – reservations STRONGLY recommended. The rule of 6 or 2 households will apply.

From 17th May we will open for indoor seating.

If you have any symptoms of Covid 19 please cancel your booking.

If you develop symptoms of Covid 19 within 21 days of visiting the Café please contact us immediately.
